July Update
Jul 30, 2011

Hi there
Majella and I are in Donegal at the moment. It is the "Mary From Dungloe Festival" in Dungloe and we are going to the crowning cabaret tomorrow night. It's nice to be able to attend this event as it's been in my life since my childhood.
Since I last wrote to you we have had a busy time. We had a wonderful tour here in Ireland. I really enjoyed all the shows and thanks to all of you who attended. We just finished the tour last Saturday and on Monday Majella and I went to Vienna. Our promoters in America, Marion and Attila Glatz, had invited us on a number of occasions as they spend part of their summer there every year. Fortunately, we were able to go this year and what a beautiful city it is! We had never been there before and we enjoyed it immensely. The highlight of the visit for me was making a day trip to the city of Salzburg, the home of the film "The Sound Of Music". This is were the Von Trapp family were born and where a lot of the Hollywood movie was filmed. The Sound Of Music has always been one of my favourite movies so to be able to take a tour of the places where it was filmed was a great trill. Having done this, my ambition to play Captain Von Trapp in the musical is even greater. Maybe one day!! On Tuesday next Majella and I go to Tenerife for 3 weeks for some down time. We are really looking forward to that as the weather here in Ireland has been very poor this summer. Next Friday on RTE 1 television I will be a guest on a show called "For One Night Only" hosted by Gay Byrne. We recorded this in late June and it's an hour long show of music and chat about my life. It's always a pleasure to be interviewed by Gay Byrne because he is such a master at his craft and I have known him for such a long time, that it's like talking to an old friend. I'm sure that those of you outside Ireland will be able to view it via the internet and you will know how to do that better than me!!!!
At the end of August of course, all roads will lead to Kincasslagh for the "Kincasslagh Festival"!! I'm sure many of you will be making the journey and we are really looking forward to it as there will be some great entertainment over the duration. You can get information on all the events by visiting the Donegal Shore Facebook page or call + 353 (0)74 95 43268.
Thats all for now. Hope everything is good with you. God bless
Daniel
